I stopped by Rock Records on Washington over lunch today, with one primary goal and several secondaries. The main point was to pick up a copy of The Ego Has Landed from Robbie Williams, mostly in order to get a track we want to play in Diver. Anto was also talking about Talking Heads, and I've needed to get their 2-CD comp for a while anyway, but that was both secondary and unsuccessful. As were attempts to find former Swimmer secret weapon Peven Everett's debut CD and Lounge Against the Machine's Tuxicity, which further piqued my curiousity after talking to some guy about it last night.
So, seeing as how I have this odd mental block about buying just one CD at any given time, I did the old "browse through the disks on display" trick, and ended up with Unclassified from Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Gotta say, I'm really digging it. I had heard "I Need Love" already, and even watching the band with the sound off at the Grammys was inspiring. I'm feeling pretty happy about the purchase.
By hook or by crook. (c)
