Recent Finds

A couple of things have found their way across my computer, so I thought I'd share:

Mos Def, The New Danger
Halfway through my first listen, and wow, this is really good. Not that I have much in the way of comparison, but I'm digging this more than either OutKast or The Roots.

Coolfer
Finally, a good music blog. I'd still love to see something with more artist news, but for industry stuff, this looks way promising.

Boblog
Bob Mould's blog. I'm sure there are more artist's blogs out there, but this one looks way manageable. At least until Moby learns how to set up an RSS feed.

SlimServer
If I read this right, I should be able to use this to stream MP3s from my home machine to my work machine, provided it doesn't piss off my ISP. If you've got experience with this sort of thing, let me know how well it works. And could somebody come up with a TiVo plug-in? I've been trying to use the Home Media Option as I try to convert most, if not all, of my CD collection to MP3, but it's maddeningly slow -- between five and ten seconds between tracks. I'm guessing the server is the culprit, and SlimServer seems like a more mature product.
