The Bubblegum Variations

So I got hip to the Sound Opinions end-of-the-year lists, and I'm currently listening to a new Tom Waits album from last year, only it seems to have been released by former Screaming Tree and sometime Queen of the Stone Age Mark Lanegan.

Which isn't to say it's a bad record. I quite like it. It's just reminding me a whole lot of Tom Waits.

Nobody on the SO crew had Mos Def, either. Did that record get panned and I just didn't notice? And did Jim really pick a Rush album in his top 65?
