After getting so frustrated with the uniquely dysfunctional combination of my new DVD-R drive and iTunes, to the point where I literally threw a CDR-cum-coaster out the window of my car on the way down to Vaughan's, it dawned on me that porting from iTunes to my car is much, much simpler than that.
See, I'm a big enough geek that, when I bought my car stereo, I made sure it had a stereo mini-plug input. Now, this was because at the time I wanted to be able to listen to both plain old analog cassettes and MiniDiscs, which I typically use for recording live shows of my bands, but, duh, I can just run the iPod in through the same plug and be done with it.
I still need to figure out if I'm just overthinking the iTunes problem, and I'm not so proud as to rule out that I might have been the issue, and not the technology. But that computer is still this close to going out the fucking window.
