Frankly Unappreciated

On the one hand, Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa playing their father's music on tour is pretty exciting stuff. On the other, the lack of American dates is pretty disheartening, especially when the Dweez puts it thusly:

We started in Europe because traditionally they've been a better audience for Frank. They seem to understand and appreciate the music a little bit more. In America, his music and his image have been filtered through the media in a way that doesn't really accurately represent him.

I don't know if that speaks to the size of venue the band is aiming towards, or what. There's definitely a market for this tour in the States, but it's very much a niche. I get the feeling they're looking for something on a grander scale, and yeah, that's not really going to happen. I don't see the Chicago or Rosemont Theatre selling enough tickets for this sort of thing here.

Also, very sketchy details on the band itself, although I know Bryan Beller and Joe Travers from Keneally's band are a part of it.
