Since I was bitching about it on Monday night, it's only fair that I post a followup on the desktop recording situation. The good folks at Cakewalk got back to me within 24 hours with a solution that worked like a charm. I just had to delete a couple of initializaton files, and it was back in business.

So at least now I know what to do for next time.
