I have to preface this by saying I'm a regular reader of Chicagoist, and tend to enjoy the content over there in spite of their insistence on referring to themselves in the third person singular. But it takes a special kind of music snob to bitch about two bands on a 130-band bill. God forbid you don't get your dollar's worth of value (plus Ticketmaster fees) for every single band playing on eight stages over three days.
Or less, if you got in on the initial pre-sale, which I did. Right now I'm the most stoked about the heavier bands on the bill, namely Sparta, Secret Machines and Queens of the Stone Age, but there are a ton more I'm going to be excited to see.
Lest you think I'm being too harsh, it was Tankboy who recommended, when I told him about list.in.to.chicago, that I not pull punches or worry about pissing people off.
