I guess I never put two and V2 together, because I didn't realize V2 was originally an offshoot of Virgin Records. Unfortunately, now it looks like the label, as we know it presently, is going away.
This is upsetting, as I was coming to recognize V2 as a label in the traditional sense, mostly because I could think of an awful lot of V2 artists that I liked, to the point where I would come to expect quality from their bands. That's not something you can say about pretty much any other label of their size. They had an identity, but a bit broader in scope than an indie, and that will be missed.
