Okay, so I'm loading up Rhapsody with new releases. Putting aside the notion that the stations that play Rush tunes don't play anything released after 1983, so nothing on Snakes & Arrows will get any airplay anyway, Alex Lifeson has been really asserting himself on the last couple of records.
Next up is Baby 81 from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and my gut reaction on this one is that it would sound so much better as a PJ Harvey record.
I was thinking about this just last week: why don't we have radio stations in Dallas that play stuff like new Rush? The only stations playing Rush stop, at best, at Signals (and most don't even go that far, believing their career ended after Moving Pictures). Basically the only station we have that plays new "rock" is our leftover Alternative station... and of course they don't play bands like Rush, new or old.
Maybe this is a reason to invest in satellite radio.
And I see Snakes & Arrows debuted at #3 on the album charts. Pretty good for a 35 year old band that won't get any airplay, at least here in Dallas.
