Big, But Not Unprecedented?

So, on the heels of Radiohead releasing their downloadable album for whatever you want to pay, Trent Reznor rejoicing in the end of his deal with Interscope, and Oasis and Jamiroquai buying into the Radiohead model for whatever they want to pay, there's this Madonna deal with Live Nation.

I'm not saying it's not a big deal, but it looks kind of similar to the same deal that Korn made with EMI two years ago, with the big difference being that Live Nation isn't a record company. And granted, that may be a significant difference, but the notion of looking at percentages of other revenue streams instead of, or in lieu of, record sales clearly isn't new.
