Chicagost reports on the Dewey Cox show at Cubby Bear, with a breathless secondhand report about leaving the show "smiling and completely flabbergasted that a fake band could not only be so good, but actually stun us with their musicianship."
That's the beauty and the horror of the blogosphere sometimes, that people can write with such passion and ignorance at the same time. Spinal Tap? Tenacious D? Dethklok? Any of these at least ringing a bell?
I'll confess and admit I haven't seen any of them live, but they have all toured, and the nature of rock parody is such that you have to bring the goods to be taken, um, unseriously, with Mike Keneally and Brian Beller's participation in Dethklok -- currently touring college campuses -- being as ringing an endorsement of quality as I can possibly make.
