I'm blasting through as many 2007 releases as I can in order to buy Christmas gifts for my siblings and put together some semblance of a top ten list for the year, and despite all the critical praise, I'm not hearing Rilo Kiley. There's some good stuff on here, but the record is all over the place. It doesn't even sound like the same band in some parts. While I admire musical versatility in general, it's really distracting. Maybe that doesn't matter in a download/shuffle culture, but I'm still anachronistic in that I'm clinging to at least the concept of an album.
