I'm not sure what to make of the news that a new Guns N' Roses tune will make it to Rock Band before Chinese Democracy actually gets released. It feels like it's just setting up another tease of new material that will be followed by, well, no album.
The Times article goes on about the importance of getting songs in videogames as a new distribution channel, but anything that involves Axl Rose these days can't really be taken as part of a trend, can it? And releasing a new song on a platform where knowing the song makes a difference seems a little weird to me, although there seems to be some precedent with the latest from Motley Crue.
