Rating the Lolla Lineup

Sorry Jim, but Time Out Chicago ran circles around you when it comes to pithy commentary on the just-released Lollapalooza roster.

Personally, I'm thinking I may skip the festival this year. The retro headliners -- Jane's Addiction, Depeche Mode and the Beastie Boys -- just aren't worth enduring the crowds and the heat and whatnot, and of the other potentially interesting bands, I've seen a whole lot of them. In the case of Tool, about half a dozen times, and without a new record, I doubt it's going to be better than their set at Bonnaroo. Hopefully some of the aftershows at Metro and House of Blues and the like will have some of the bands I might have been interested in seeing.
