On the eve of an increasingly live show in DC, the Washington Post has a pretty good profile of the "new era" of The Roots, as the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I'd say they're the only reason to watch the show, but I actually caught it the other night with my family to watch their version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" with the Muppets, and it had some funny moments. Not the monologue, though. Also, my sister knows someone who works on the show.
Anyway, if you want a taste of what the band has been doing on the show, they've made a bunch of their "sandwiches" -- the bits coming in and out of commercial breaks -- available online to download.
