NME is reporting that Interpol have replaced original member Carlos Dengler with former Zwan guitarist Dave Pajo, who will be switching back to bass, and current Secret Machines frontman Brandon Curtis on keys and backing vocals. It must be nice knowing that it takes two people to replace you, but if you've got a bass player that you want who doesn't also play keys or sing, you do what you gotta do.
Despite his background -- and the fact that I've actually seen him live -- I don't have much of an opinion of Pajo. I'm a big Secret Machines fan, though, and I hope this doesn't disrupt that band's plans too much. NME makes no mention of Curtis' main band's immediate future on the heels of the news.
Nicely done, Coz. I like Secret Machines, too. I also saw Pajo, but consider it a technicality since it was with Zwan at their last show at the Brawlroom a few years back.
Ahh Zwan... the sign of the Corganapocalypse, the point where you really, truly knew it was time to stick a fork in him. Case in point: "someone" thought it was a good idea to allow Chamberlin a drum solo. They were wrong...
