With their last CD dominated by one 21-minute tune, the post-rock poster boys have a little more freedom to explore different textures with shorter pieces on their latest release. And texture is definitely the operative phrase here. This disk just has a ton of cool sounds on it, and listening to them ebb and flow throughout the typically atypical song structures can be entrancing, especially as the marimbas fade and the repeating piano part comes to the forefront in the strikingly Gabriel-esque "Ten-day Interval."
