I happened to stop in Niketown the other night, and among all the soccer gear, they had Manchester United t-shirts with Timmy Howard's name and number on them. As you may know, Howard is the American goalkeeper who transferred to the historic English club last year and won himself the starting position between the pipes in short order.
Of course, that was then. Now, he starts in minor cup competitions, mostly, while the starting job for the EPL and Champions League is Roy Carroll's to lose. With this in mind, I thought to myself "it would be funny if the shirts were marked down."
Lo and behold, original price $20, now selling for $12. Losing your starting gig will cost you exactly eight bucks American, I guess.
