Week 2 Predictions

Everybody is looking at the New York Red Bulls opening gala, but the two matches I'm most interested in are the battles at the top and bottom of the quality scale. Kansas City at Houston should be very revealing, and we get the "which team really, really stinks" battle between Colorado and Columbus. I don't expect that one to be scintillating soccer, but it might be fun anyway.

Can Chivas repeat its impressive performance last week? No. DC has just a little too much speed to go with the home-field advantage.

I'm picking with my heart on the Chicago match. Both teams are trying to bounce back from tough one-goal losses, and the home-field would presumably favor the Galaxy, but I gotta believe. I just don't gotta believe there will be many goals in that one.

Chivas USA 1 :: 2 DC United
New England 3 :: 0 New York
Kansas City 1 :: 2 Houston
Salt Lake 0 :: 4 Dallas
Columbus 1 :: 0 Colorado
Chicago 1 :: 1 Los Angeles

Current record: 3-3
