SOMEWHERE OVER FRANCE (10:12am local time) -- We're now in the same time zone as our destination. So says the display screen embedded in the seat in front of me, which also offers the helpful reminder that my body thinks its four in the morning. Not entirely sure how long I slept, but I slept. That same display screen is accompanied by a control box under the seat in front of me, and I'm assuming it was designed by someone about 5'6", as it's right in the sot my left leg should go. So it wasn't the most comfortable sleep, to say the least.
Lots and lots of soccer fans on the flight. Partially because someone posted the remarkably low fare to BigSoccer.com a few months ago, and partially because its a flight to Frankfurt that lands the day before the first U.S. game. I've seen a DaMarcus Beasley PSV jersey, a Landon Donovan t-shirt, a whole bunch of the new US Soccer gear, plus one "Brucesliga" t-shirt, which isn't quite as funny to me as others seem to think it is. I think it's maybe one of those "too clever by half" things.
Oooh, they've got Family Guy on-demand!
