WC2006: Everybody Hates A Tourist

CHECKPOINT CHARLIE (4:36pm local time) -- I hope I didn't just invalidate my passport by getting the souvenier stamps put in it. So far I've seen a hotel billboard down the street reading "Check in, Charlie" and there's a little restaurant called "Taste Point Charlie," or something like that. This is what Ground Zero in New York City has to look forward to.

And yet, the sense of history is still there, I think. Maybe I'm imagining it, or trying too hard to see past the touristy part.
