I ended up watching last night's MLS All-Star match against Celtic FC of Scotland, and on the one hand, I've never seen coverage of a sporting event devote so much of its bandwidth to something outside said sporting event, but it's not like anyone could have expected otherwise.
On the other hand, the front five of the MLS side, minus Eddie Johnson, were actually really fun to watch once they got going. The combination of Juan Pablo Angel in front of Juan Toja, Dwayne DeRosario and Ronnie O'Brien was truly one of the best combinations this league could have put out there. Even more so in front of Ricardo Clark and Shalrie Joseph.
It's no coincidence that I fell asleep on the couch once most of those players were subbed out in the second half.
