It's behind their registration wall, but this passage from today's Boston Globe article on the Revolution stood out:
Clearly, Nicol did not like the non-call when United's Ben Olsen knocked down the Revolution's Khano Smith on the wing, then ran downfield to set up Christian Gomez's shot, which Luciano Emilio deflected in for the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute.
So I'll say to Steve Nicol what I always say to Steve Nicol when he starts whining like this. Shut the hell up. At least you didn't lose MLS Cup on that exact sequence of events. And you've had your opportunities to lose MLS Cup that way, you just chose other, different ways to lose.
Note to self, or some enterprising reader: Edit the Wikipedia entry for that game to reflect that Chris Klein did not "steal the ball" from Diego Gutierrez at midfield. He fucking mugged him.
