It dawned on me over the weekend that MLS now has a Fire with a strong Mexican/Central American/South American flavor and a compliant front office. I don't know if there any other externally-facing shoes to drop in completely unmaking the Peter Wilt/Bob Bradley "maverick" era, other than the last of the "Fire Originals" retiring and Kenny Stern leaving the broadcast booth.
What has worried me for at least a year now, as these things have changed and as more and more people I know in the front office leave or are let go, is that the team's embrace of the "Tradition, Honor, Passion" slogan will get more and more farcical, at least with regard to that first part of the triad.
Kenny's leaving the booth? You know something I don't? ;)
It's only been two and a half years, but i think there are only four full time staff members left from the start of the 2005 season - ouch. Quinner, McNamara, Donald and Jessica Y.
There are nine others with connections to the inaugural era still there as well:
Roland, Caddy, Denis, Daryl and Stern are on the technical staff and i think Bailey and Jason were part time back then. Mary and Dan have moved to the stadium side along with Jessica C. who left and came back. Am i missing anyone? Conversely, i think there are about 40 new members of the staff alumni club since 4/05!
