Can't say enough about Chris Armas and what he meant to the Fire, so I'll let others do it instead. If there's going to be any criticism of him, it's that he tried to carry the team on his back in a role he wasn't well-suited for while the team struggled to find a playmaker. When Blanco arrived, the Fire captain was able to settle back and do what he does best.
On the other hand, if Luis' single source is legit on this story, it made my day. I seem to recall Wanchope being under contract for 2008, so retirement is pretty much the only way for all parties to end the arrangement with a shred of dignity.
