Quick Euro Thoughts

If you haven't watched Germany-Turkey, you may want to save this for later. I managed to get spoiled twice in five minutes on Monday for the Spain-Italy match, which I had recorded to a DVD and planned to watch while I waited for a flight at Norfolk Airport, but I ended up on an earlier flight and never got a chance to watch the rest of it, anyway.

I don't know if I care more about this tournament this time around just because I can actually watch it, or what. I remember eight years ago, when word got out that Club Lago had some sort of bootleg feed making it one of the only places to watch matches.

Anyway, lost in the technical difficulties and German celebrations was what looked like another severe injury for the Turks. Somebody in the midfield tried to make a cut to stay with Philip Lahm and went down in a heap, which is a big part of how Lahm was able to get in free on the Turkish 'keeper. Don't be surprised if you hear news of a torn ACL by tomorrow.

As for tomorrow, don't forget that Arshavin missed Russia's drubbing in the first-round match against Spain.
