Or across the Galaxy. Whatever.
Can we have Adrian Healy (sp?) call all of our matches? Pretty please? Some of the word play in the open was fucking brilliant.
Not to diminish three points on the road, but it should have been more than 1-0 given how bad Los Angeles' defense is. That might have been different had Patrick Nyarko not gotten hurt. Given how the trainers were evaluating him, and the look on his face when the camera caught him on the sideline, I think he may have torn a ligament in his knee and will be out for the season. That was not the kind of disappointed look you get when you're just missing the rest of a game.
On the other side, Wilman Conde had a couple of his characteristic blunders -- including letting Alan Gordon get that free header early -- but they ended up being inconsequential. Baky and Logan Pause did a great job of stepping into passing lanes. Diego Gutierrez looked pretty rusty at left back, but that's less of an issue when Gonzalo Segares is available.
John Thorrington continues to be my MVP for this Fire squad. He's got both the skill and the work rate to always contribute, and with all the firepower this team now has, he should reap more rewards like that return pass from McBride to set up the goal. Even against teams that don't have three defenders simultaneously blow the coverage on a give-and-go.
