Sorry Ives, Goff beat you by a minute. That, or he's learned how to change his timestamps on his blog posts, and the bigwigs at the Washington Post let him get away with it.
As for the Fire, they protected their starting lineup, with Dasan Robinson filling in Brandon Prideaux's role. If Marco Pappa can't crack the starting lineup, then he's worth risking. I'd say I don't get the Internet backlash over that decision, except that I totally get the Internet backlash over that decision, because it's the exact same backlash that happens every time the front office makes a decision based on hours and hours of time spent with players that doesn't square with the minutes of time fans have spent with those same players.
Of course, Seattle ended up taking a solid player who plays a role the Internet doesn't respect in Stephen King, who put in a tremendous rookie season despite being a late pick. I'm sure that won't stop some fans from burning Frank Klopas in effigy, though, for even thinking about losing the Guatemalan we've barely even seen play a full match, if we even have at all.
