I've hesitated to jump on the MLS Rumors-bashing bandwagon*, but if you scroll down past the fourteen screens worth of advertising, this story makes no sense whatsoever. The Fire have been starting McBride and Blanco as their two forwards. Adding a third old, slow forward makes no sense, even before you get into the damaging effects to the likes of Chris Rolfe and Patrick Nyarko, who would likely see less playing time as a result. And, with apologies to Tomasz Frankowski, you don't bring in an international forward to sit him on the bench.
This has to be another one of those cases where an agent brings up MLS as leverage, knowing full well that no one in Europe will ever check it out. If Robbie Fowler ends up in Fire red, I'll be very, very surprised.
* The exception being that time they posted a picture of someone who looked nothing like Nate Jaqua and said it was evidence that Nate Jaqua was training with Houston again. The end doesn't justify the means.
