Luis gave me shit for using my own scoring last week, but that's only because I didn't see his. Plus, I don't understand why he's giving scores if they don't matter. Hard to say which game I would have doubled down on last week, so I'm not going to make any retroactive claims there.
Anyway, here's what I've got for this week.
Columbus 1 - 0 Toronto
I really, really want to pick Toronto here, but that's because I still can't reconcile the notion of Columbus as defending champions. Does not compute.
DC United 1 - 2 Chicago
Losing Soumare will hurt, but we've got lots of depth in the back. Just ask Temo. I'm not convinced that United has much to work with in the midfield, especially with Fred and Santino Quaranta not expected to play.
New York 1 - 2 New England
New York bouncing back from last week would mean Juan Carlos Osorio would have to work some kind of magic, and I've been pretty outspoken in my belief that he has none. Khano Smith is not the answer.
Colorado 1 - 3 Kansas City
Matt Pickens looked bad last week on shots from distance, while Davy Arnaud looked very, very good.
San Jose 0 - 2 Houston <- LOCK
San Jose wasn't bad last week other than that whole "not being able to finish" thing -- how was the movie, Mrs. Lincoln? -- but that was against a pretty weak New England team.
Seattle 2 - 1 Salt Lake
UPDATED. I thought RSL was at home, and didn't realize Ljungberg would be ready. In light of that, the new guys get another notch on their belt.
Dallas 1 - 0 Chivas USA
I don't know that Chivas has enough of their offensive weapons healthy enough to exploit Steve Purdy and a backup keeper. Normally, yes, but not this week.
