I have absolutely nothing to say about the end of HBO's Sex in the City. However, with all the media furor over the series finale, I feel like I need to chime in and say that I have nothing to say.
On the one hand, I feel like I've completely missed out on a big cultural phenomenon. The amount of noise over this show has been practically deafening in my little corner of the world for the last month or so. Of course, I'm willing to concede that lack of good distractions on my part might be a contributing factor.
On the other hand, I've been down this road before, and I'm not going to force myself to watch something that I have no strong connection with just because everybody else is doing it. I suppose I could get all introspective and try to divine why the tale of four single women having lots of relationships is in no way interesting to me, but that's simultaneously obvious, boring and a little depressing.
So I'll just smile and nod when friends talk about the finale, and the watch parties surrounding it. I'm certainly not one to cast aspersions on the notion of getting together to watch a favorite show, even if it's been a long time since I partook in that sort of thing. Which is, at the end of the day, the same argument I could take with the subject matter...
Hey Coz that shows sucks its a show for morons. YOu didn't miss out on anything.
I highly recommend the Ali G show!
