I think it had to be just a coincidence that The Simpsons debuted an episode written in part by Homer on the same night Family Guy was penned by Lois Griffin. While I seem to remember laughing out loud a couple of times at both, I can't seem to recall at exactly what, and I certainly wasn't in the same state of mind as Peter and Lois. At some point in the future, I'm going to either have a laptop in the living room so I can save more TV moments for posterity, or use the DVD recorder to offload funny clips of things.
Given the turnaround time for non-South Park animation, I wonder if the Simpsons ep was done about the same time Dan Castelanetta guested with Richard Dean Anderson on his show, Stargate SG-1.
UPDATE: Okay, now I remember enough to paraphrase. "I spent all morning watching a VH1 special on Gwen Stefani. I have no idea what a "Hollaback Girl" is, I just know I want...her...dead." -- Brian
