Lost In Interpretation

So, io9 has their rundown of the Lost finale, but for a site that is all about the sci-fi, I found this one conclusion to be somewhat disappointing and off the mark:

In the answered questions category, Frank and Desmond are the other two people who "survive the crash" but don't make it back to civilization with the Oceanic 6, and it appears that Sun may blame Frank and Jack for not rescuing Jin and preventing what appears to be a certain death (yeah, I'm hedging that last bet).

Bzzt, wrong answer. Frank and Desmond weren't on the boat, so how could they be survivors? I don't fully recall the cover story of the Oceanic Six here, but if they don't include a helicopter, there's certainly no reason to bring Lapidus into the yarn. My guess is that the other two have to be Michael and Jin, since their bodies might be found at some point in or around the wreckage of the freighter. Although I'll also hedge my bet on Jin actually being dead.
