Impetuousness of Young Superheroes These Days

There's something kinda cool and symmetrical about the fact that the Blue Beetle on Batman: The Brave & The Bold is voiced by Will Friedle, the same guy who played Terry McGinnis on Batman Beyond. If there are any other teenage would-be heroes that the Caped Crusader questions because of their relative inexperience, I guess he'll voice them as well.

The new Batman series is pretty fun, with a bit of the intensity of the comics and the cartoons coupled with the levity, and even some of the camp, of the old TV series. Good writing helps, like this exchange between "Bats" -- as nearly every weekly fighting partner calls him -- and the previous Blue Beetle. A bunch of robots have just surrounded the two heroes as the guy who built them flees the room.

Blue Beetle: Looks like he had a contingency plan!
Batman: Good thing we have a plan of our own.
Blue Beetle: Hit robots, make fall down?
Batman: Precisely.

I may be paraphrasing some of it, but you get the drift. Good stuff.
